Marketing Research Reflection and impact upon my ideas

After looking at the Hangover III marketing campaign, it has really helps to form an idea as to how to create a successful marketing campaign for my film. I know that with modern technology being an every-day part of a consumers life, what better way to use this as a form of advertisement. Hangover III have used social networking such as Twitter and Facebook as a platform for their audience, and this draws in their opinion and gives them exclusive information regarding the film. I feel due to my predicted target audience of young people, social networking would certainly be something I would use as a part of my campaign as this group of people predominantly use social networks most frequently and it could be a form of ''word of mouth'' advertising to enhance the hype about my film.
I also know that the conventional advertising is still a very strong and successful strategy with marketing a campaign, such as the trailer which tends to the the most important part to consumers as it give them the most information in relation to the film including genre, stars and plot, which done in the right way, can attract the audience to your film within them watching a small fragment of it.
I would also like to create my own online game for my campaign to create more hype and to make it more interactive for my target audience. If I was to create a horror campaign, I could have a game in which my audience has to help the protagonist escape the antagonist. An online something that has been very successful with the likes of Pottermore.
Another way to market my film would be for the stars to have public appearances on shows such as The Alan Carr Chatty Man Show, Johnathan Ross and could even appear on radio shows to promote the film. This would not only increase the profile of the stars of my campaign, it would create more of a hype around the film itself.
Marketing is growing more creative by the day as people are coming up with more inventive ways to grab the attention of the audience so I think I would have to think of something creative to promote my film.
